The Magnet Dumbbell is an excellent tool used in the second phase of dumbbell training. Once you have trained your dog to have a strong, calm grip on the dowel move onto the magnet dumbbell.
Attach a leash to the hook on the side of the dumbbell and pull sideways out of the dogs mouth when the grip is not calm. When the dog loses the dumbbell he will learn to hold it. We recommend this training not involve conflict but only a negative reinforcement through losing the dumbbell.
This dumbbell will fall apart when thrown, second handler needed to put back together before sending the dog for the pick up
